In Orlovat and neighboring villages it seems as though everyone drives one model or another of the Yugo/Zastava, an iconic Serbian symbol representative of the country’s political and economic past. Making portraits of these vehicles felt equivalent to photographing the villagers themselves. There is reassurance in recurrence. The melodic pattern stems from this harmony.
